Part one
Waking up this morning, the only thing I could hear was the voice of arguments from my neighbors. It got to an extent at which I couldn’t bear it, then I got outside to listen to their arguments. Sincerely when I got there the topic of their argument was interesting. The topic goes thus “Religion and politics” and their bone of contention is that Politics is in religion likewise, religion is in politics. I will only discuss with you some interesting fact that some of them said about the topic.
When I got there one of them was saying politics and religion is twin that are always together, that is where you see one you will also see the other and He was like looking at their definition according to Oxford Dictionary, immediately He brought out Dictionary and it define religion as the believe in worship of superhuman controlling power or a pursuit of interest followed by great devotion. Also according to oxford Dictionary, politics is defined as the activities aimed at improving ones status or increasing power within an organization, state, Country etc. He then said with the definition of these two terms, one can simply replace the definition of politics with that of religion, that is He could define politics as” the pursuit of interest followed by great devotion” which correctly fits in. With this, He said logically Politics is in Religion and vice versa.
Instantly, as the man above finished talking a voice came from my back saying He concur to what the first man said. Then He started by saying He will use his own church as example to buttress the point that politics is in religion. He said in His church they wanted to elect Deacons and this pastor pronounced the date of the election. Before you see it, people started campaigning for people they have interest in even without the consent of those individual and on the day of the election those people they campaigned for won the election. Then what has the church practiced if not politics.
Look forward for the part two...............................
