Introduction

Hi everybody,

I'm @shawnnft. This is my second post for the #threetunetuesday playlist which is a contest hosted by @ablaze. I wanted to spice it up this week as I really want to try my best to have at least one or two songs that you have never heard before. I also want to bring songs in other languages besides English. The previous week I did forever love songs asa the theme; I thought it would be interesting if I did the opposite and choose sad love songs for the theme this week. For this week, I have chose an English, Chinese and Vietnamese song featuring this theme. For the Chinese and Vietnamese song, I found YouTube videos that have English subtitles so you can understand the meaning of the song. Hope you enjoy!

#1. Scars - Papa Roach

The first song I chose is Scars by Papa Roach; this was a popular song when I was a kid. I loved this generation of music as they were meaningful for the most part. After the mainstream of songs focused on mentioning drinking, drugs and sex which was giving a bad influence to children and teens, I moved away from English songs to Asian songs.

Moving back on track with the song, I love the meaning of the song. The story of this song is about a guy giving all his heart to a girl but the girl broke it. This can be in interpreted in the lyrics "I tear my heart out, I sew myself shut; my weakness is that I cared too much". The guy tried everything but the girl can't even help herself. It's not clear whether the guy is in a relationship with the girl but it's clear that he loved her. In the end, he decided that he needs to move on as she is no longer worth it because of the scars she gave him.

#2. 嘉宾 (Jia Bin) - 张远 (Zhang Yuan)

The second song I chose is Jia Bin by Zhang Yuan. The English title for this song is guest. The song is called guest because he is a guest at his ex's wedding. This song is about a guy that broke up with a girl. Then a few years later, she invites him to her wedding. Based on the lyrics he hasn't really moved on from the relationship. After going to the wedding, he politely greets her and realizes that he needs to move on as there is no hope for them to be together anymore. He wishes her the best and hopes the guy she marries can make her happy.

#3. Lắng Nghe Nước Mắt - Mr. Siro

The last song I chose is Lắng Nghe Nước Mắt by Mr. Siro. The song translates to listen to the tears in English. This song is about a guy that meets a girl and they had good times together. Then one morning the girl suddenly cried because she finally felt the guilt from cheating on her boyfriend. They knew from the beginning it was wrong and this is based off one of the lyrics that translates to "we knew it was wrong when we first met". After this realization, the girl most likely decided that she needs to stop seeing the guy even though they had something special together. The guy is just left alone being emo thinking why he can't find love and why it's so difficult to find "the one". I'm not as confident in this interpretation as the other songs but I feel this is what roughly the story for this song is about.
