Introduction
It's been quiet in Splinterlands. We keep hearing news on land being delayed a bit. Everyone is still waiting for the promised neverland aka wen land. I've actually mentioned that I won't be focused too much on the land gameplay. I might put my cards on my friend's land though if there is potential to make good gains from that play. I've also mentioned before during my post about winning GF kitty that I would build a GF collection so I want to update on that so you can see that I'm following through with my words and also maybe give some thoughts about GF cards and their future.
Update On GF Collection
After getting the GF Kitty, I wanted to build a GF collection at least for CHAOS LEGION CORE CARDS. You can see from the image below that I've started to pick up some GF cards that I felt were under valued. A notable one is the Kelya 5 bcx for 47 dollars which was like 7.45 dollars per bcx which I felt was undervalued since land was coming out and most of the low cheap bcx were maxed out so these are hard to sell. Since I plan on building this GF collection for the long-term I'm not too worried about the price now. I just want to get as cheap as I can.
You can see from this image that I have filtered the CP from highest to lowest among my gold foil cards. Right now I'm trying to go for gold foil gold league and this turned out to be a lot more expensive than I thought so I will have to slowly buy up. I will probably won't level fiends to level 3 so that will save some money. As far as for what's completed, I Only have Kelya and Diemonshark to gold league and bandit and conjurer at max but I'm using them on my scholar at the moment.
Currently, I'm still in the process of building this GF deck which is why I've been renting out the cards. I'm selling desert dragon though because I want to use the money to buy other GF cards. I never really use this card I thought I would just sell it even though this card is good with kitty in certain matchups.
Also another tip when making purchases for cards in Splinterlands is to use the monstermarket to make these purchases to get some cash back from the fee. It really does help get back some of your money instead of just wasting it there
Future For GF Cards
I think GF cards have a lot of potential for the future to increase in value. I think what we have now is just the beginning. I hope they make future GF cards all full art. I think that would be cool and give these cards more value. Like how in pokemon and MTG they have cards that have full art versions. With a low supply as well, GF cards will be in demand once Splinterlands finally gets more active daily players that are hopefully not bots.
Now we already know GF cards have utility in battles giving an extra 10% reward. It's giving extra CP for land. We also have GF only brawls and GF only tournaments. They also do better on the rental market since they give bonus and they don't have as much supply as well as being needed in certain frays for brawls and GF only tournaments. I feel this is just the beginning and I don't want miss what future advantages GF cards will get.
I hope we also get some special animations for GF cards. Like how in pokemon a shiny pokemon gets that extra shine before the battle starts. Even though it seems like a small thing come on, it's cool people hunted and collected shiny pokemon so why not Gold Splinterland cards.
Concluding Thoughts
I think there's not that much attention on GF cards right now. They did get a huge spike when there was land details came out on how much they could produce on land. After that though the prices have been fluctuating but I still feel like they are cheap if we compare to last year when crypto market was doing better and I find it hard that it will go lower but let's not jinx it.
