There's no doubt that as humans we need some sort of social interaction. It's part of us and this has been proven. Just imagine a world where it was just you and nothing else. I think anybody would probably go insane after a while. Anyways today I want to talk about friendship and whether or not it's easy for me to make friends and why I prefer to have a few over a lot.

Firstly, I want to cover some background story in my life. I've mentioned this in my blogs before but I will mention it again. In the past, I was bullied a lot growing up and even a friend turned into a bully so since then I had trust issues making friends. This has made making friends a bit difficult for me and by friends I mean like good friends where I or they will take one for the team.

I want to categorize the two different types of friend that I have. I have offline friends and online friends. Even among these two types of friends, I would consider some more towards acquaintances. Acquaintances are those that I wouldn't really share personal things to and that I don't really know on a personal level.

Online
I feel online is super easy for me to make friends. I consider myself an introvert but when chatting behind a screen, it's very easy for me to chat compared to in real life. I've made a lot of crypto friends where we just talk about crypto and projects. Most of them I don't know them on a personal level but that's fine because sometimes it's not good to know too much since in most cases I will probably never meet them in real life.

Offline
Now offline is a completely different story. I'm unlikely to approach someone first in real life. For me to make friends in real life, they would not only have to approach me first but there would also have to be some common interest to talk about. For example, I still have one friend from University where we sometimes hangout and when we aren't meeting in real life usually we are chatting about anime. Then I also have my Korean and Japanese friend who I haven't met in a while but we had times where we would play League of Legends every now and then. There was always something common that kept the friendship connected and going I guess.

Why I Prefer Fewer Friends
There are some people that have lots of friends which is totally fine; it's their life. For me, I feel the more friends you have, there will be more drama. I'm not too big of a fan of drama unless we talking about the tv shows. I do have a friend that always shares me crazy stories of how he gets betrayed etc and it makes me feel better that I don't have a lot of friends.

In addition to that, I would have to celebrate their birthdays and spend time with each of them to maintain that friendship. This can be very tiring and I'm not someone that wants to spend that much time on this. I just occasionally need to socialize so a few friends that I can count on and share things with is good enough for me.

That's all from me. I wonder if anybody has similar thoughts as me. What do you think of all this?
