Sawasdee khap everybody,
I'm @shawnnft. This is my post for the #threetunetuesday playlist which is a contest hosted by
@ablaze. I recently got into Thai songs. I actually never really listened to Thai pop songs but it seems that they have that similar Kpop aspect. They have guy/girl groups as well with similar dress style and of course it's pop music so it's catchy. So today I will be sharing three thai songs that I recently started listening to and maybe I'll find more Thai songs and share more in the future if you guys are interested.
The first song chosen was Unexpected by Jaylerr & Paris. Jaylerr and Paris are both Thai singers and actors. In my opinion this song, is super simple and catchy.
As you can see from the lyrics in the video, it's leaning towards a love song. I believe it describes about the time when we finally found "the one". Sometimes that person we fall in love with is unexpected and I think that's how the title of the song came to be. By unexpected, I mean usually we have certain criteria or expectations for our future partner but sometimes when we fall in love we can turn a blind eye on some of these criteria or expectations. Basically, we can fall in love with anybody regardless of body shape, ethnicity etc because it's unexpected! I think that's what this song is trying to say.
The second song chosen was Last Kiss by LAZ1. I think LAZ1 is suppose to mean Last One but just a cool way of writing it. Anyways this is a 5 member boy group which is where I mentioned earlier has a similar take on Kpop. I think some of the music we can feel is a bit like Kpop but with the unique elements of Thai and of course in Thai language. This group debuted last year so they are still fairly new. I wonder if more countries will adopt this boy/girl group that K-pop has which is taking the world by storm and they might see competition soon with Thai Pop. I like the chorus of this song the best because it's super catchy and I like the lyrics for it too~.
This is another love song. It's about a guy wanting to convey his feeling for this girl he really loves. One of the options is to hug her but he isn't sure how long. Another option is to kiss and he's also unsure how long. I believe these actions are the simple physical actions that can be taken to show we love someone. That's why we see many couples and married people hug and kiss because that's the basic and core essence of love. I'm not sure why the song is called Last Kiss though; I'm thinking the last part is a bit tied to their group name and the kiss is obviously part of the song.
The last song chosen was Less is More by 4EVE. I think 4EVE is short and cool way of saying forever? I think that's the concept behind this group name. 4EVE is a 7 member girl group that started in 2020 which formed through a singing survival show. I also shared the music video in this one because I wanted you to see how it's similar to Kpop. The kind of music video and how they sing and dance is very much like the Kpop style.
I think this is a sweet song and I totally agree sometimes less is more. This song is about a girl that loves this guy because of the simple things he does like being there when nobody is there for her and saying goodnight to her everyday. I think in this day and age sometimes people think it's about the amount of money spent on gift etc to impress a girl but sometimes it's just the little things that show you care and you can win the girl's heart as well. I don't know I could be wrong this is just what I think the message of the song is.
If you made it to the end, thank you so much for reading. I hope you liked the songs and maybe found some new songs to add to your playlist! Should I do a part 2 for Thai Songs?
If you don't already, you should also start posting your TTT and sharing 3 songs every week! If you started posting TTT because of me, feel free to tag me so I can see and I will definitely comment and upvote your post! All the best and see you next week for my next TTT.
