For my entry into today's animalphotography challenge, I'm sharing a photo that I took yesterday of my parent's toy poodle. My mom is a veterinarian, so because of this she's always had a pet of some kind. When I was born we had a cat, then during my grade school days we had a dog. Now, my parents have a small toy poodle named Meeko. He was actually originally my grandmother's but she had to move into a nursing home some time ago, so my mom has adopted him. He's now about 3 years old and is definitely very full of energy! My parents have a fenced in backyard area where he loves to run around, especially to chase and catch leaves that blow around in the yard.
When he's inside he can be quite the handful if we leave him attended for too long; he has a nasty habit of shredding up any paper towel or toilet paper that he finds. Luckily he doesn't eat it or anything crazy, but it does make quite the mess. I captured this photo of him while he was sitting on the staircase looking out the window at the cars driving by on the street outside. You can also see the top portion of the turtleneck sweater that my Mom made for him. Since it's so cold here in Canada over the winter, we finds that it keeps him nice and cozy while he spends time outside!
