The mysterious Imperial Valley in Southern California is home to Salvation Mountain, the rigorous endeavor of Leonard Knight. A devotional art installation of religious expression is comprised of a hillside of sculpted earth, adobe and straw, covered in layer after layer of paint. This unique landscape is odd and misunderstood and a perfect neighbor to the dying and neglected Salton Sea. Along side the mountain are a number of trucks, boats, tractors and other items all adorned in the same religious folk art styling.
