After and before, rust repairs on the #fordcortina ( #fordp100 ) for the UK folk, made a template from some cardboard, cut out a piece of sheet metal.
Bent it on my homemade #metalbrake and started hammering it to fit, the plate with a very straight edge went through the steps of fit, hammer to shape and so on until it matched the curves close enough.
The rusted portion was cut out and the new piece was made permanent via #migwelding before getting a final shaping with the flap disc.
