I came across some disturbing pictures online a few days back that were supposedly about slavery back in the 1860s.
Try to imagine seeing a newspaper print something like that here in 2017.
I even saw this picture of a store that actually sold slaves!
It's pretty disturbing to think there are still people being used as slaves around the world in 2017.
But overall, we should be thankful and positive. Of course, there is still racism out there in the world, but here in the western world, most of us work along side people from all sorts of different backgrounds and religions. We should never lose perspective of how far we have come as a species over the last 150 years.
