I really like to look at interesting rock forms, to imagine what that stone looks like — a dragon or a fox, a hat or a golf ball on a stand, castle ruins or prongs of a crown. The photo above reminds me of either the remains of a rampart covered with sand, or the skeleton of some huge pangolin.
In some places, despite the mountainous landscape, there are almost no bizarre forms, but somewhere there are a lot of them, such as here, in the Valle Lunar in Reserva Nacional Lago Jeinimeni, Chile.
I already showed a couple of views from there, but in fact this valley is simply overflowing with diverse, funny or stately cliffs, large or small.
So in addition to the classic large-scale landscape views, I could not refuse to just shoot closely the most picturesque rocks or just rocks I liked.
By the way, rocks that protrude separately from the ground / sand / gravel always look interesting. This contrast of surfaces looks unusual and often pretty, including because of the slopes near the rocks, mounds, under which traces of screes can be seen.
I also like to take photos of textures of rocks (and not only them), but more about that some other time :)
