20.07.2020, the village of Nikola-Lenivets, Kaluga region. Yes! I did it! I saw with my own eyes the comet NEOWISE, and even photographed it, which is what I wanted to do for the last two or three weeks.
Since I do not live in the south regions, where it became visible with an eye at the end of the first decade of July, I was waiting for the end of the second decade, when it will be clearly visible in our places. I wanted to devote a few nights to the comet, to see and shoot it in different locations, but unfortunately we had rains or just cloudy.
As a result, on July 19, I looked at the next rain and cloudiness in the forecast for the Moscow region, left everything and drove 230 km to the neighboring region to an interesting village and an art-park, where I saw a forecast for a clear sky at night. And yes, despite some clouds in the evening and at the beginning of the night, later the sky cleared up and I saw NEOWISE! Well, at least sometimes you can trust the forecasters :)
Yeah, I know that this is far from the best shot of a comet, but it's mine, I really wanted to take it, and I'm really happy with this photo and the fact that I actually saw the comet with my own eyes! Well, C/2020 F3 NEOWISE, see you again in more than six thousand years ;)
