Finaly extrating honey.

Finley found the crank for my 2 frame extractor. Having only two stacks of boxes to extaract,. Firing up the 4 framer or the 20 framer just did not make sense.

Here is a snap of the device.

It was on its way to the extraction room. but got put with the torch kit by mistake. Buried under a layer of torch equipment that I clean up and put in its own tool box. Got the box a bit ago from my favorite place to get things. The local thrift store. To keep my foot print low I generally live out of the waste stream. The extractor I got for trade in honey. It can double as a dispensing tank.

Just taking a short brake to allow the pail of honey to drip out so I can change it.

The pail has a fine mesh cloth tied over it to catch all the wax, bugs etc. There are those that use sediment systems instead of a filter but they are a lot slower. The material I got to make bee veils from. Personally I don't see the logic in one system being better than the other. They both have their pros and cons. Choose the one right for you based on available equipment, cash to buy the equipment and the time you have to spend.

Here is a shot of a vary basic scratching pot. It is just a pot. You could add a board with a nail through it to pivot the frame in the middle as you scratch the cappings

The red thing is a capping's scratcher. Cost about $10 CD at the most expensive store in the area to buy at.

They are cheep and do the job with no power. Great tool for the small beekeeper.

Eventually the content of the capping tank and the catching screens will the allowed to drip out. into the despensing thanks for my personal honey,
