Ah, okay ... I'd be fretting about a noise, I was more thinking it might have been a sudden explosion. I had a water pipe burst one time, the steam was spectacular and completely unnerving. Luckily I'd pulled into a car park to check the map and had just started to drive off when it burst. Even more luckily, the car park was for a sports centre with toilets and a coffee machine.
We just call it the puma (it is a puma) 22 years old now, I've had it about eight. I said to them last week that they must have just about replaced everything by now and surely it could go on forever? They just smiled. It is the most reliable car I've ever had and the engine is pristine, I can never believe how clean it is.
