I always find it a bit strange, having your year presented back to you! Fortunately, there weren't any surprises:
I've set out my Hive goals for this year, along with plans for the house and on Saturday 4 January we'll be launching this year's Saturday Savers Club. We're thinking about a Prize Draw this year - have a look if you want to comment.
My poor garden and my houseplants were neglected last year, and so was the HiveGarden community. I'm hoping to do better this year. There's certainly plenty of work to do. Silver Bloggers seems to answer most needs and I would like to post more in the Art. community.
I also have a post in draft about gorillas ... I'm wondering about the best community for that. Its themes are conservation, bio-diversity, zoology, ecology and the environment. Let me know if you have any ideas.
Last year was the first year that I used HBD for saving for off-chain expenses. I'm not sure that I had 15,344 in total at any one time, I think that must be the total staked over the whole year. It worked really well, and I'll be doing it again, although maybe in dedicated savings account.
It was funny that a health round up and Veganuary were in the top ten posts - they're both still on my mind.
I finished my stint with the Zoe app, designed to help you eat more healthily, after about twelve-fifteen months. I have made useful changes and reported the results, but the app was becoming more and more irritating! I think I've got the gist now:
I'm pretty happy with how things are. I've experimented with more vegan foods and dishes, but decided that I'm going to go for the half-arsed Veganuary version: show up and do what you can.
For me, this is eating very little, if any, meat and reducing dairy. I more want to go with a rotation of simple meals that I enjoy and don't take long to prepare, and focus on bringing in more fibre.
The other big focus will be recovering more physical activity and movement. This suffered last year due to longer working hours and several weeks' illness. I'd like to get back to where I was about eighteen months ago ... and beyond!
I hope we'll see a more peaceful world in 2025 with everyone safe, well and with enough resources and, hopefully, some environmental improvements. I think it will be down to us and the changes we make together.
