FIRST THINGS FIRST.........
Good day Steemians. It's good to meet you here today. I am new in this platform and this is actually my first post. My name is Shakes and I am looking forward to meet you all and enjoy myself. I come from Gaborone in Botswana. Now, Botswana is a small diamond producing country in Southern Africa.
I got invited here in Steemit by a friend whom I guess must be the first person to join Steemit in our country. I hope I am the second! Lol. Steemit is still relatively unknown here in Botswana and one of my main aims is to spread the word here. I am looking forward to knuckle down and get the job done.
I am a family man. I am married with three beautiful kids (two girls and a boy). I am an Accountant by profession (ACCA qualification) but I do enjoy a wide variety of hobbies and activities. which include football or soccer (whatever you prefer calling it). I am a big fan of Manchester City in England and I am still celebrating winning the Premier League there. I am currently enjoying watching the World Cup on TV since I did not manage to travel to Russia.
My other hobbies and activities also include cryptocurrencies (which is what has drawn me to Steemit), Online Marketing (I have a website which I will share in future), travelling (I haven't been able to do much of this in a while and I hope I will compensate by meeting some great people here) and farming (I normally travel to my farm on weekends to meditate.....yes you heard me correctly)!
I will be writing (which again is one of my passions) a great deal about these topics and a lot more in future and I hope you enjoy and learn something from them as much as I am looking forward to reading yours and learning from them.
Having said that, I wish to say that I am very excited and honored to be part of this great community. My friend tells me that there is an exciting social community here in Steemit. All loving, respectful and willing to go the extra mile to help one another. I can't be blessed enough.
