I'm glad you found yourself a place to express yourself. Welcome.

Even after several years on Hive, I still visit almost every day. The rewards are small, but it's still nice to have numbers that reflect appreciation.

I want you to get started right, so I'll let you know that there are some "unwritten rules". There are some self-appointed guardians who will downvote your work, if you violate these rules.

• give attribution for images. If you created the image, then just add a description that it's your photo. AI images should also be attributed.
• only post original content, avoid plagiarism. Even if you're the author, they don't like finding your post on other websites.
• at most you can post 2-3 times per day. More than that they consider abuse and start downvoting.
• What they consider abuse as described above gets downvoted to zero.
• They also downvote a portion of rewards on accounts they think get consistently over rewarded. It's rare to have an account that always gets too much reward, so most of us don't experience this.

We lose Hive members because they get angry when the watchers downvote their work for the reasons above. It's easily avoidable.

Other than that, the Hive experience is rather unique. For the most part, it is very positive and supportive. There are a few bad actors, but they usually burn themselves out and go elsewhere.
