Five Winners and Unannounced Prizes Distributed
I wrote last week about DreemPort partnering with The Ink Well community on Hive to run a short fiction writing challenge in February.
The new prompt for the coming week will drop sometime on Monday. A short story using the prompt will need to be submitted to DreemPort by Thursday at 4pm PST for you to be able to enter the next part of the challenge.
Now, here’s the scoop on the first week.
Dreemsteem, the creator of DreemPort, has a very generous spirit and you never know exactly what surprises she will pop up with. This week she decided to award everyone who took part with 75 DREEM tokens. The top five authors receive 200 DREEM each.

What are the percentages?
When DreemPort members log into the site they are presented with five randomly selected posts to read and rank. Then they are able to submit a post of their own to go into the next curation cycle. Their ranking is compiled at the end of the curation cycle and the posts receive an overall ranking.
Only Challenge posts are allowed to be entered on Thursdays. Those logging in on Friday are taking part in curating the challenge and determining the winners.
Having a small group of judges select winners in a writing contest ends up with a lot of subjectivity. Having a community reading and ranking leads to a greater level of objectivity.

What are DREEM tokens?
They are tokens on the Hive blockchain. Participants on DreemPort receive them when they curate content and they can win them during challenges. As the project builds, there will be more uses for them.
Like all tokens, they started at zero value in July 2021. Many tokens create buy walls to attempt to move the value of the token up. Dreem made a deliberate decision to leave the token to rise or fall on its own.
It’s available for trading on the Hive-Engine market. I just took a look at the market and right now DREEM is trading at about 1.9cents US. I may be a bit biased but I do believe this token is going to appreciate over time. Now would be a good time to be accumulating it.
How to collect DREEM tokens
To collect any of the tokens you earn or win, you need a Hive account for them to be deposited to your wallet on the Hive Engine.
Hive accounts are free. Be very careful to save all the keys they give you. They are EXTREMELY important for the safety of your account.
