As per our previous discussion: If this is 'jazz' certainly Willie Bobo qualifies. As you know I liked Pharaoh Sander's Karma album which to me seems to have a lot more of an arc and thematic development even though much more abstract than most jazz. The later Miles stuff (Bitch's Brew etc.) didn't work that well for me. It seemed that Miles had always been on the cutting edge of jazz and was desperately hoping he could stay there with these later excursions. I personally find a lot of it unfocused and meandering but I know that a lot of people love it. Anyway , I am always thrilled to see your new posts and see what you have to say about them. I truly appreciate your interest and enthusiasm for jazz.
