Tam Shui Lao Jie is a fascinating district for shopping and eating.
This place is good enough to spend an entire day and you will see a lot of the Taipei culture in here also.
You can take the city metro and get off at the Tamshui station.
Look how colorful the train cars look. It is very touristy.
You get off the station and go down to the ground floor that leads you straight to the district.
Lots of people walk the streets here.
You will see a lot of locals here: students, moms, merchants, vendors, etc.
I talk to them and get to know their life and culture.
It is 'Lao Jie' meaning that there are a lot of local people who live here for generations.
This is actually an old town that is built right next to the northern coastal line.
Some people like this place so much that they actually book their hotel to stay in this district.
I didn't.
I spent a day walking the old town here.
