In life, failure is real, and even if no one wants to meet him, he is always present. In all the activities we do, we have the opportunity to succeed or fail, win or lose. But the problem is that the word failure is often misused and that is why some people are afraid of it.

If we focus on a specific concept, the Royal Spanish Academy defines failure as a pitiful event, failure or adverse result. I would say that failure occurs when we do not achieve those goals that we previously set for ourselves, when we do not comply with what we set out to do, and that we were convinced that we would achieve it.
It is clear that nobody wants to fail. Many are afraid of this, and every day we try to do things to improve in our life, and be closer to success. Because I don't know anyone who doesn't want to be successful at what they do. Whoever has a company wants the numbers to always be green and there are no losses. Whoever has a business wants to sell more. And the student strives for the best grades.
But many times, we point to some people, and we divide society into successful and unsuccessful. The word failed is misused, and from there, the winner is applauded, and the loser is criticized, since that is the rule established by society. Nobody cares about the path traveled, or the means to achieve the objectives.
Life is not easy, and success is difficult to achieve, and although we all want that, it is difficult to get to that point. But the problem is that in the world we live in, only the one who wins matters and as long as they win.
If we do any activity, we are in danger of failing, that is so. So how do I not fail? And this is easily answered: By doing nothing. This is the only way not to fail, since with this, we make sure not to fail. But deep down, we would be very cowardly, since we do not contribute anything to society for fear of being called a failure.
And this is where I go. The true failure is the one who does nothing, the one who lives in indifference, and is satisfied with what he has. He has no motivation for anything, and will surely spend his life anonymous. That is being a failure.
I do not agree with anyone who thinks that failure means not obtaining the expected results, or not achieving what you want. Let's go to an example.
We have two students. The first, strives all semester to pass the subject. While the latter, he opts for the "easier" way and copies himself in each of the evaluations and uses cheats to answer the questions of the exams.
Surprisingly, the student who made an effort, and who in theory was more prepared, failed, and the one who did not make merits to pass the subject, achieved the objective. Guess who will get all the attention, and who will be the applauded or recognized by society as successful.
Deep down, there are few who know the path that each one travels. Many of us just focus on the end result, skipping the path that got you there. The failure is not the one who does not achieve that goal for which he has worked so hard, but the one who does nothing, and only looks attentively to see the other stumble and point him out as a failure. That's the real failure.
Being afraid of failure is like not wanting to play for fear of losing. Failure is part of life, and many times it does not help you progress. Because deep down, you can't always win. That is only seen in the movies, where the protagonists are always victorious.
I invite all people to try to do things well, and always seek to be better, all without fear of failure. Because as I said at the beginning: Only the person who does nothing does not fail...
