First, you must admit to yourself that you are lacking something in the center of you being, (in your soul) and that there is nothing that that you can do of yourself, to fill that void in your heart. Anyone who is truly seeking the truth will know this to be true.
Then you must know the only entrance into the kingdom of heaven is through the man Jesus Christ, and that it is He alone whom has salvation in Himself. Hebrews 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please Him: for he that comes to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.
Now, in your words express (out loud) your desire to be made whole in your heart, by asking Him (the Lord Jesus Christ) to come and take up His abode in your heart. Where He will remain in you through all eternity guarding protecting, and leading you into all matters of righteousness and truth.
Once you have spoken aloud your invitation, He has now entered into your heart; you must affirm that fact by confessing out loud that He is come in your flesh,
1John 4:3 And every spirit that confessed not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.
Now that you have asked the Lord into your heart, you must ask for the Holy Spirit to be imparted to you to teach you all things, which the Lord has spoken.
John 14:26 But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you. Now you shall ever be with the Lord!
