Come sempre vi aspetto su www.serialfiller.org.
Grazie dell'attenzione!

This is the future link to the post that I am inviting you to read in the coming days at www.serialfiller.org and which is previewed here
As usual today I am bringing you inside a new Preview of an article that in a few days or weeks you will see In the Mind of a SerialFiller, my blog entirely focused on the world of TV series and of which, for the past few months, I have decided to give you constantly, in advance of what I will publish, most of the posts you will see on www.serialfiller.org.
The answer, objectively, we will never have it but I can answer it with a subjective fact and an analytical reflection.
If we used to be almost mathematically certain that Netflix's flagship titles were attention-worthy products, today the opposite is the case. 90 percent of the offerings are forgettable. So why dive, popcorn in hand, into such an adventure.
The last reason, subjectively speaking, that I share with you is related to the experience that binge watching allows me to have and what, on the other hand, the weekly-release experience offers.
If I am here, just today, talking about this juxtaposition, it is, above all, because in this beautiful 2022 serial, I have had absolute proof of how wide, full, and satisfying weekly-release viewing of certain series has been.
Better Call Saul is the prime example but also The Boys (review here), Severance (review here), Euphoria (review here) and today House of The Dragon (review here) are perfect testimonials to what I am about to tell you.
Having started watching an entire season, it is presumable that the viewer, once the season is over, will move on to the next series, shelving that show more or less permanently. It is almost comparable to the hit and run, to fast food while what we should desperately seek, in TV as on food as in politics is to be more "slow." Slow food, reasoning, analysis, critical spirit, settling of information, in-depth study, meditation should guide us on everything and push us to better understand the world around us.
The weekly release, as far as the futile discussion we are having about the enjoyment of a TV series, allows us to be "slow," to reason, reflect and think about what we have seen. Without hurry. Without fretting. Without thinking about the "play" we will click to keep watching again and again and again until the episodes to watch run out.
Awareness is an invaluable treasure and is a fundamental weapon even in a world, the serial world, that fundamental is not to our lives.
We could live without TV but we could not live without food.
Is this a truism? Of course it is but the moment we agree to be participants in this TV merry-go-round then, perhaps, we should equip ourselves with all the tools to ride it properly while avoiding the risk of being ridden.
Linked to Binge Watching, more than anything else, is the concept of "consumption" which is in turn linked to the concept of entertainment that the television industry tries, in every way, to guarantee us.
Being aware means making ourselves viewers and not consumers.
One can also be aware by being a Binge Watcher but it will, certainly, be a more bumpy path. The weekly release, on the other hand, allows us to metabolize and make use of our critical spirit which, unfortunately, is increasingly scarce in the consumer society in which we live.
As always, I look forward to seeing you at www.serialfiller.org.
Be sure, if you are serialfillers too, sign up and pass the word so that this small community will grow larger and larger!
I also look forward to seeing you on social (including telegram)
