Come di consueto oggi vi porto dentro una nuova Anteprima di un articolo che fra qualche giorno o settimana vedrete Nella Mente di un SerialFiller, il mio blog interamente incentrato sul mondo delle serie tv e di cui, da qualche mese, ho deciso di regalarvi costantemente, in anticipo su quello che pubblicherò, gran parte dei post che vedrete su www.serialfiller.org.
Credo di aver usato il termine "bomba" anche in occasione del primo post su Snabba Cash, e d'altronde che altri termini vi potrebbero venire in mente dinanzi ad uno show denso, dove tutto si incastra perfettamente, dove non ci sono buoni o cattivi, dove tutto è sfumato, dove nessuno è salvo o salvabile davvero, dove, come accadeva in Game of Thrones all'inizio, tutto può succedere?
Che Snabba Cash fosse stata abbastanza apprezzata da queste parti lo testimonia l'altissima posizione guadagnata nella classifica generale del 2021 (la trovate qui, non esitate a leggerla), dove era riuscita a mettersi alle spalle titoli blasonatissimi e premiatissimi come The Morning Show, Ted Lasso, Landscapers e la stessa Gomorra, tanto per citarne alcuni.
Il fatto che nel titolo abbia richiamato la serie tratta dai romanzi di Saviano non è stato un'escamotage da clickbait (non è il mio stile) ma un genuino accostamento verso uno show che, più qualunque altro, ha raccolto, non so quanto volutamente la serie tv di Sky Italia creata da Stefano Sollima.
Per chi, come me, sente che il finale di Gomorra abbia lasciato un enorme vuoto (pochi giorni fa ho rilasciato la recensione fiume sul finale di Gomorra, la trovate qui), il ritorno di Snabba Cash è stato una boccata di aria fresca che, mai come in questo momento, serviva.
Sempre parlando di richiami alla storia della tv, avevo citato The Wire in occasione dell'analisi del series finale di Gomorra. Bene, anche in Snabba Cash ritroverete, molto labilmente, qualche nota del capolavoro di David Simon, più nell'ambientazion e nella contestualizzazione che nel resto. Tra ghetti, ragazzi spacciati, insegnanti che provano a salvarli, destini irredimibili, c'è molto di The Wire dentro Snabba Cash, sebbene a livelli analitici infinitamente inferiori.
Ma, credo per voi finalmente, è arrivato il momento di parlare di questa seconda stagione e di farlo, spero, degnamente.

As usual, today I am bringing you inside a new Preview of an article that in a few days or weeks you will see In the Mind of a SerialFiller, my blog entirely focused on the world of TV series and of which, for the past few months, I have decided to constantly give you, in advance of what I will publish, most of the posts you will see at www.serialfiller.org.
Do you "watch" Scandinavian titles often?
Has serial geopolitics changed?
Does Netflix still hide some golden nuggets in its boundless catalog?
I told you, back in the day, that an unpredictable surprise was coming from Sweden, one of those series you could secretly and immediately fall in love with.
It was April 15, 2021, when I offered you this post (if you are interested, read it) in which I extolled and glorified this little Swedish series, based on a book from which a film trilogy starring Joel Kinnaman had previously been made.
Now, I haven't read the book, I haven't seen the movies but one thing I can say: the TV series is a freaking (in the true sense of the word) bomb!
I think I used the term "bomb" in the first post on Snabba Cash as well, and then again, what other terms could you think of before a dense show, where everything fits together perfectly, where there are no good guys or bad guys, where everything is nuanced, where no one is safe or savable really, where, as was the case in Game of Thrones in the beginning, anything can happen?
I will say it again, figuring, somewhat arrogantly, that I cannot be proven wrong, that Snabba Cash is a bomb. From memory, I think I have only juxtaposed that term with Severance (Apple's series review here) this year with which Snabba Cash shares nothing but the "S" initial of the title but with which it shares the very strong impact and high quality of the writing.
That Snabba Cash had been quite popular in these parts is evidenced by the very high position it had earned in the overall 2021 rankings (you can find it here, feel free to read it), where it had managed to put itself behind such blazoned and award-winning titles as The Morning Show, Ted Lasso, Landscapers and Gomorrah itself, just to name a few.
The fact that in the title it referred to the series based on Saviano's novels was not a clickbait ploy (not my style) but a genuine juxtaposition toward a show that, more than any other, has picked up, I don't know how deliberately, the Sky Italia TV series created by Stefano Sollima.
For those who, like me, feel that the finale of Gomorrah left a huge void (a few days ago I released the river review on the Gomorrah finale, you can find it here), the return of Snabba Cash was a breath of fresh air that, never before, was needed.
Still speaking of callbacks to TV history, I had mentioned The Wire when reviewing the series finale of Gomorrah. Well, even in Snabba Cash you will find, very laboriously, some hints of David Simon's masterpiece, more in the setting and contextualization than in the rest. Between the ghettos, the doomed kids, the teachers trying to save them, the irredeemable fates, there is much of The Wire within Snabba Cash, albeit at infinitely lower analytical levels.
But, I think for you finally, the time has come to talk about this second season and to do so, I hope, worthily.
