Kim vive in Florida, paese assolato, caldo, colorato.

Come sempre vi aspetto su www.serialfiller.org.
Grazie dell'attenzione!

This is the future link to the post that I am inviting you to read in the coming days at www.serialfiller.org and which is previewed here

As usual, today I am bringing you in a new Preview of an article that in a few days or weeks you will see In the Mind of a SerialFiller, my blog focused entirely on the world of TV series and of which, for the past few months, I have decided to give you constantly, in advance of what I will publish, most of the posts you will see at www.serialfiller.org.

In Kim, Jimmy had seen a life partner, a playmate, a partner, a lover, a friend, a person with whom he could bare himself trying to mediate between his damned and blissful souls. Kim could vent and hold back, at the same time, the worst instincts of the man who would become Saul. The woman, she was the counterbalance to the man's blacker, more slippery soul. Without her Jimmy was swept away from himself, as an avalanche would sweep a village ahead of itself.
Saul Goodman was a wounded, angry and blindfolded evolution of Jimmy, of a wounded, lonely, abandoned, devastated Jimmy forced to take refuge inside a character whose mask he managed (and was forced) to wear h24 in order to stay away from the very painful memory of that unbearable absence.
Gene was the dim and necessary evolution of this in order to stay alive, the melancholy and dull version who, nevertheless, could not hurt a fly in order to survive.
Viktor, on the other hand, seems to constitute Jimmy's total and final demise. The second, alleged, abandonment, consummated at a distance, in a quick phone call, does not seem to be bearable, tolerable, conceivable, least of all by a Jimmy without Kim but now also without Albuquerque, without money, without fame, without success, and without his strange and rich profession.
Viktor is light years away from Jimmy and, consequently, light years away from Kim.
Returning to the authors' knowledge of the language of film, who here sublimate the concept of "Show Don't Tell," the sidereal distance between Kim and Jimmy is also evidenced by the choice of geographic poles from which this supposed phone call departs.
Kim lives in Florida, a sunny, warm, colorful country.
Jimmy, now transformed into Gene, lives in the metaphorical black and white of Nebraska, a very cold, snow-covered region depicted here in all its grayness.
There is now a whole world of meanings, metaphorical and otherwise, that keeps Kim and Jimmy far apart, definitively sanctioning that sharp division that she had declared, reluctantly and with a broken heart, in the superb Fun & Games.
And returning, just for a moment more to another message transferred in images to us viewers by Gilligan and Gould, there is also another impeccable reference in that brief sequence.
Gene kicks the phone booth, as years earlier he had kicked a garbage can at the anteroom of HHM, in the very first episode of the show.
Do you know who was on the other side of the door on that occasion? Who was the first person Jimmy met after that rant?
Kim. Just like now, on the other side of the receiver she was still hiding, this time in Florida and really out of Jimmy's reach just as she was then far away and out of Jimmy's reach for quite different reasons.
A lifetime has passed since that moment.
A love has swept over them both.
A choice wisely divided them.
One mask after another we lost Jimmy McGill, his humanity, his good-naturedness, his romantic and affable traits.
Kim killed Jimmy to prevent Jimmy from killing both of them.
3 Masks later, Jimmy became Viktor, passing through Saul and Gene and leaving within him not even a trace of that strange but mighty humanity that was inherent in Kim Wexler's companion when Howard was still alive and everything seemed to be possible.
