E invece no. Non lo è.
Assolutamente no, anzi.

This is the future link to the post that I am inviting you to read in the coming days at www.serialfiller.org and which is previewed here

As usual, today I am bringing you in a new Preview of an article that in a few days or weeks you will see In the Mind of a SerialFiller, my blog entirely focused on the world of TV series and of which, for the past few months, I have decided to give you constantly, in advance of what I will publish, most of the posts you will see at www.serialfiller.org.

A disappointment is a disappointment, whatever the subject to bring it on, whatever the reason to cause it. Disappointment, however, is also a very subjective feeling. A fine film critic might be more disappointed by a so-called "auteur" work than, likewise, might a viewer raised on bread and "Christmas Vacation." Being disappointed belongs to the history, expectations, sensibilities of each of us.
That said, I have, from the outset, risked a top 5 relative to the disappointments of the year, realizing how divisive and verbally violent readers' reactions can be, especially on social media. These kinds of rankings, these kinds of lists, always seem to harbor a streak of haughtiness, as well as polemic, yet I believe they are, on the contrary, the purest testament to the serial passion a person (in this case yours truly) can offer.
It is important, however, to be (or at least try to be) super partes, abstracting from personal tastes and personal expectations. In the image on the cover you can admire the lead couple of The Eddy, a TV series, released in 2020 on Netflix, created and directed by Damien Chazelle, a director whom I consider among the best of his generation and who had first surprised me with Whiplash, then delighted me with La La Land and finally captivated me with First Man. How it could have ended up on the black list of the 5 most disappointing series of 2020 is something, apparently, mysterious. But no. It isn't.
Disappointment comes from realizing that the result of a work, be it audio visual or otherwise, is far below the standards you set or imagined. From a Chazelle series (to return to the example) I would have expected something different but, more importantly, something more. Does this make The Eddy a very bad series to juxtapose with The Eyes of the Heart? Absolutely not; on the contrary. The Eddy has its own dignity, its own fervor, its own very precise identity and is much better than the average of the other series that appeared that year. Simply, however, I expected (or rather we expected) a 9/10 report card series, and we were faced with a 7. Not bad but, still, nothing unforgettable and nothing to be remembered with particular fury.
