Come di consueto oggi vi porto dentro una nuova Anteprima di un articolo che fra qualche giorno o settimana vedrete Nella Mente di un SerialFiller, il mio blog interamente incentrato sul mondo delle serie tv e di cui, da qualche mese, ho deciso di regalarvi costantemente, in anticipo su quello che pubblicherò, gran parte dei post che vedrete su www.serialfiller.org.
A dare seguito ai passati episodi, ed agli attriti intercorsi fra Rhaenira ed Alicent, un tempo ottime amiche, ci bastano i primi minuti di questo episodio che, sin dal titolo rimanda alle 2 ex compagne.
Rhaenira teme, per qualche ragione, Alicent ed Alicent vuole, per qualche ragione, annichilire la giovane Targaryen.
Il motivo, in fin dei conti, è sempre lo stesso, è quello che muoveva intere armate in Game of Thrones e che smuove i cuori, i muscoli e le menti dei personaggi in House of The Dragon: il trono.
La successione, spettante al figlio di Alicent per tradizione ma a Rhaenira per scelta del re, è l'oggetto del contendere in un gioco dove non esistono più regole ma solo colpi bassi o stratagemmi.
In questo scacchiere sopraggiungeranno figure inattese ed altrettanto rilevanti, una fra tutti quella di Lord Larys, fratello di Harwin e figlio di Lord Lionel.
A fungere da detonatore, però, è il solito Criston Cole, uomo ferito e pronto ad uccidersi nell'episodio precedente e pieno di rancore verso Rhaenira, oggi più che mai.
Son trascorsi 10 anni dagli eventi precedenti, da quel sogno di un amore vero da condividere al cospetto della futura regina eppure Ser Criston appare ancora molto scottato da quel rifiuto, da quel vile compromesso che lo ha allontanato da una donna per la quale aveva rotto il suo importante giuramento.
Stiamo parlando, ovviamente, di Daemon, principe esiliato oramai più volte che sembra avere trovato la sua pace a Pentos dove principi e nobili del luogo gli offrono ogni ricchezza in cambio della protezione dalla fiorente e ritrovata Triarchia, oggi rinvigorita dall'alleanza con Dorne (ed ecco che torna un'altra conoscenza geografica per i fan di Game of Thrones).
Daemon ci pensa, Laena no. La donna, vorrebbe vivere una vita nei luoghi della sua infanzia, accanto ad un marito che provi ad essere immenso ed imperioso come in passato e che non si accontenti di facili ricchezze e di una vita calma, tranquilla e lontana dal palazzo e dal potere.
Daemon sembra amare davvero Laena e sembra essere davvero in pace con se stesso e la sua nuova famiglia.
Vecchi demoni si affacciano alla finestra del fratello di Viserys, demoni che si concretizzeranno in occasione di un altro parto, quello della sua Laena che, per difficoltà e scelte da affrontare, ricorderà molto quello di Aemma con l'epilogo che tutti ricordiamo.
Dal fuoco di un drago al fuoco doloso di un branco di criminali dalla lingua mozzata.
Ci viene ripresentato Lord Larys, già visto di sfuggita nell'episodio precedente e che oggi sembra costituire il filo diretto fra la regina Alicent e il sottobosco di Approdo del re.
Un patto mai scritto fra i 2 ed abilmente siglato, in sordina, dallo storpio.
Lady Alicent sembra essere la più indurita dalla vita a palazzo. La diffidenza e la rigidità con cui cerca di manipolare il marito, accaparrare consensi al concilio, restando ferma su posizioni di cui il padre Otto andrebbe fiera, la rende una delle più importanti risorse per la Corona ma, al tempo stesso, uno dei più grandi pericoli.
La sua alleanza, per quanto inconsapevole, con Lord Larys, rappresenterà, di fatto, uno dei più enormi rischi per la corona dai tempi dell'affronto di Daemon.
Il fuoco che brucia, stavolta, è ad Harrenhal e miete 2 vittime illustri.
Lord Lionel e suo figlio Harwin periscono, proprio come da desiderio di Lady Alicent. Larys commette un fratricidio-patricidio che spianerà la strada a lui, e probabilmente ad Alicent, per il comando, per quanto ufficioso e sotterraneo, dei 7 regni.

As usual, today I am bringing you inside a new Preview of an article that in a few days or weeks you will see In the Mind of a SerialFiller, my blog entirely focused on the world of TV series and of which, for the past few months, I have decided to constantly give you, in advance of what I will publish, most of the posts you will see at www.serialfiller.org.
To follow up on past episodes, and the friction that has occurred between Rhaenira and Alicent, once very good friends, we need only the first few minutes of this episode, which, right from the title refers back to the 2 former companions.
Rhaenira fears, for some reason, Alicent and Alicent wants, for some reason, to annihilate the young Targaryen.
The reason, after all, is always the same, it is the one that moved entire armies in Game of Thrones and moves the hearts, muscles and minds of the characters in House of The Dragon: the throne.
Succession, due to Alicent's son by tradition but to Rhaenira by the king's choice, is the object of contention in a game where there are no longer any rules but only low blows or stratagems.
Unexpected and equally relevant figures will arrive in this chessboard, one among them Lord Larys, brother of Harwin and son of Lord Lionel.
Acting as the detonator, however, is the usual Criston Cole, a man wounded and ready to kill himself in the previous episode and full of resentment toward Rhaenira now more than ever.
It has been 10 years since the previous events, since that dream of a true love to be shared in the presence of the future queen, and yet Ser Criston still appears very much burned by that rejection, by that cowardly compromise that alienated him from a woman for whom he had broken his important oath.
We are talking, of course, about Daemon, a prince exiled now several times who seems to have found his peace in Pentos where local princes and nobles offer him every wealth in exchange for protection from the thriving and newfound Triarchy, now reinvigorated by the alliance with Dorne (and here comes back another geographical acquaintance for Game of Thrones fans).
Daemon thinks about it, Laena does not. The woman, she would like to live a life in the places of her childhood, next to a husband who tries to be as immense and imperious as in the past and who does not settle for easy riches and a calm, quiet life away from the palace and power.
Daemon seems to really love Laena and seems to be truly at peace with himself and his new family.
Old demons loom over Viserys' brother's window, demons that will come to fruition at another birth, that of his Laena, which, in terms of difficulties and choices to be faced, will be very reminiscent of Aemma's with the epilogue we all remember.
From the fire of a dragon to the arson of a pack of severed-tongued criminals.
We are reintroduced to Lord Larys, already seen in passing in the previous episode and who now seems to be the direct thread between Queen Alicent and the underbelly of King's Landing.
A pact never written between the 2 and cleverly sealed, quietly, by the cripple.
Lady Alicent seems to be the most hardened by life in the palace. The distrust and rigidity with which she tries to manipulate her husband, grabbing consensus at the council while standing firm on positions her father Otto would be proud of, makes her one of the most important assets to the Crown but, at the same time, one of the greatest dangers.
Her alliance, however unwitting, with Lord Larys will, in fact, represent one of the most enormous risks to the crown since Daemon's snub.
The burning fire, this time, is in Harrenhal and claims 2 illustrious victims.
Lord Lionel and his son Harwin perish, just as Lady Alicent wished. Larys commits a fratricide-patricide that will pave the way for him, and probably Alicent, to command, however unofficial and underground, the 7 kingdoms.
