Come di consueto oggi vi porto dentro una nuova Anteprima di un articolo che fra qualche giorno o settimana vedrete Nella Mente di un SerialFiller, il mio blog interamente incentrato sul mondo delle serie tv e di cui, da qualche mese, ho deciso di regalarvi costantemente, in anticipo su quello che pubblicherò, gran parte dei post che vedrete su www.serialfiller.org.

Il contrasto fra musiche spensierate e scene cruente è frequente cosi come l'andatura musicale spesso si frappone fra l'immagine ed il racconto cambiando continuamente il tono dell'azione.
E' un soundtrack speciale, che attinge a pienissime mani da quegli anni e scorrendo quasi come fotografie musicali l'album di quell'epoca riesce ad incollarci occhi ed orecchie ad uno show che alza il livello anche grazie all'utilizzo di canzoni iconiche spesso contrastanti con l'immagine rappresentata.

I personaggi fanno il resto. Sono tutti parodistici ed eccessivi ma al tempo stesso fermi nella loro caratterizzazione granitica.
Nereo Ferraù, intrepretato da un bravissimo Antonio Gerardi, ne è l'esempio migliore.

Bang Bang Baby non si trascina mai ma trascina sempre, lo spettatore, i personaggi, la storia, verso lidi inattesi e lo fa con un linguaggio unico che non è mai simile ad altre cose.
Potrà piacere o meno ma Bang Bang Baby è una serie che trasuda originalità da tutti i pori.
Basti pensare al cold open dell'ultimo episodio, un incipit animato che riprende i cartoni giapponesi in voga in quegli anni e li trasforma in un "previously" anticlimatico efficacissimo che, didascalicamente, ci ricorda cosa è successo nei 9 episodi precedenti senza sembrare uno spiegone.
Bravissimi tutti.
Bravi gli autori, bravi gli interpreti (ad eccezione Lucia Mascino, davvero poco in parte nel vestire i panni della mamma di Alice).
Bang Bang Baby è la migliore novità italica di quest'anno, come lo era stata Anna lo scorso anno, insieme a Strappare Lungo i Bordi, come lo erano state L'amica Geniale, The Young Pope e Gomorra negli anni precedenti.
L'Italia c'è, è presente, è viva e ha tanto da raccontare.

As usual today I am bringing you inside a new Preview of an article that in a few days or weeks you will see In the Mind of a SerialFiller, my blog entirely focused on the world of TV series and of which, for the past few months, I have decided to give you constantly, in advance of what I will publish, most of the posts you will see at www.serialfiller.org.

The contrast between light-hearted music and gory scenes is frequent as well as the musical pacing often comes between the image and the story, constantly changing the tone of the action.
It is a special soundtrack, drawing heavily from those years and flowing almost like musical photographs the album of that era manages to glue our eyes and ears to a show that also raises the bar through the use of iconic songs often contrasting with the image depicted.

The characters do the rest. They are all parodistic and excessive but at the same time firm in their granite characterization.
Nereo Ferraù, played by a very good Antonio Gerardi, is the best example.
Portrayed as a bamboozler with few working cogs in the gears of his mind, Nereo becomes, episode after episode, that crazy splinter capable of drawing the audience's attention to himself. Deviant and sick as few are but at the same time tenderly portrayed as an overgrown child unable to find a place in the world. His ethereal love for a woman who is not a woman, his affection for his cousin, his passion for George Michael, and his heinous selflessness make him a well-characterized and extremely unique character.
Bang Bang Baby is surrounded by such characters, colorful and diverse, different from the shapeless masses circulating in the Lombard capital, emblems of the visual and perceptual contrast that the show tries to show in every sequence.
Music and characters always serve the narrative, never the other way around.
The plot, chaotic and constantly shuffling, almost assumes relative importance.
What does it matter, really, how it ends?

Bang Bang Baby never drags but always drags, the viewer, the characters, the story, to unexpected shores and does so with a unique language that is never similar to anything else.
You may or may not like it, but Bang Bang Baby is a series that oozes originality from every pore.
Just think of the cold open of the last episode, an animated incipit that takes Japanese cartoons in vogue in those years and turns them into a highly effective anticlimactic "previously" that, didactically, reminds us of what happened in the previous 9 episodes without sounding like an explication.
Bravo to everyone.
Bravo to the writers, bravo to the performers (with the exception of Lucia Mascino, who is really not very in part in playing Alice's mom).
Bang Bang Baby is the best Italic novelty of this year, as Anna was last year, along with Tearing Along the Edges, as L'amica Geniale, The Young Pope and Gomorra had been in previous years.
Italy is there, is present, is alive and has much to tell.
