Come di consueto oggi vi porto dentro una nuova Anteprima di un articolo che fra qualche giorno o settimana vedrete Nella Mente di un SerialFiller, il mio blog interamente incentrato sul mondo delle serie tv e di cui, da qualche mese, ho deciso di regalarvi costantemente, in anticipo su quello che pubblicherò, gran parte dei post che vedrete su www.serialfiller.org.

Da questo punto di vista ho trovato Andor abbastanza "centrato", equilibrato nell'essere autonoma da tutto il resto ma comunque debitrice rispetto a tutto ciò che è venuto prima di lei.
Ritornando ai personaggi, poco da dire sull'ottimo Diego Luna ed il suo "Cassa". Molto buona la presenza di Fiona Shaw (Killing Eve) nei panni di Marva e di Adria Arjona (Irma Vep) in quelli di Bix, personaggi che promettono ottime cose, insieme al già citato Rael. Meno bene sul fronte villain con volti poco noti e poco carismatici che non sembrano garantire quel magnetismo che servirebbe nel vestire simili abiti.

Basti pensare che in questo momento abbiamo da "gestire" il ritorno di The Good Fight (qui la recensione) con la sua ultima stagione e di The Handmaid's Tale (qui la recensione), serie tv assolutamente imperdibili per chi scrive. Al tempo stesso "dobbiamo" sintonizzarci settimanalmente su House of The Dragon (qui la mia ultima recensione) e Gli Anelli del Potere (Qui l'ultimo articolo). Ho voluto menzionare solo 4 delle miriadi di serie che affollano il palinsesto attuale ma, tra serie da recuperare, nuove uscite, ed altre da completare è davvero fondamentale scegliere quelle giuste.

Non è originale. Non lo è nella struttura. Non lo è nello stile. Non lo è nel racconto. Rispetto ad altri show (pensiamo a Severance, qui la recensione)) che hanno saputo sorprendere, lo show di Disney Plus parte in svantaggio.
La sua ottima CGI ed un comparto tecnico eccellente, rappresenta oramai uno standard per questo tipo di produzioni. Pensate a For All Mankind (qui la recensione), Foundation (qui la recensione) o lo stesso The Mandalorian (qui la recensione).
In questo contesto, pensare di presentarsi al mondo con un trittico di episodi di cui uno è totalmente da buttare, non è la migliore carta da visita.
E, dunque, ritornando al titolo ripropongo il mio dilemma: Vado o Resto?

As usual today I am bringing you inside a new Preview of an article that in a few days or weeks you will see In the Mind of a SerialFiller, my blog entirely focused on the world of TV series and of which, for the past few months, I have decided to give you constantly, in advance of what I will publish, most of the posts you will see on www.serialfiller.org.

From this point of view I found Andor quite "centered," balanced in being autonomous from everything else but still indebted to everything that came before her.
Returning to the characters, little to say about the excellent Diego Luna and his "Cashier." Very good is the presence of Fiona Shaw (Killing Eve) as Marva and Adria Arjona (Irma Vep) as Bix, characters who promise great things, along with the aforementioned Rael. Less well on the villain front with unfamiliar and uncharismatic faces who do not seem to provide the magnetism that would be needed in dressing such outfits.

Before ending, I would like to return to the first consideration made in the post (the one related to the total uselessness of one of the episodes) and to the title with which I wanted to christen this article.
Although Andor left me with the impression that it was a must-see series, I had a hard time pinning it down as a must-see series.
Unfortunately (or fortunately) we are surrounded by mid- to high-level series, and it is now increasingly common to have to sacrifice even good series in order to make room for others that are more interesting, innovative or simply better.
Suffice it to say that right now we have to "handle" the return of The Good Fight (review here) with its final season and The Handmaid's Tale (review here), TV series that are absolutely unmissable for the writer. At the same time we "must" tune in weekly to House of The Dragon (my latest review here) and The Rings of Power (my latest article here). I wanted to mention only 4 of the myriad series crowding the current schedule but, between series to catch up on, new releases, and others to be completed it is really crucial to choose the right ones.
Is Andor, while off to a great start, one of the right ones?
It certainly has elements that play in its favor but it also has many others that do not lay for it.
Any examples?
It is not original. It is not in structure. It is not in style. It is not in storytelling. Compared to other shows (think Severance, review here)) that have been able to surprise, the Disney Plus show starts at a disadvantage.
Its excellent CGI and an excellent technical compartment is now a standard for this kind of production. Think of For All Mankind (review here), Foundation (review here) or The Mandalorian itself (review here).
In this context, to think of presenting oneself to the world with a triptych of episodes, one of which is totally rubbish, is not the best calling card.
And, therefore, returning to the title I reiterate my dilemma: Do I go or do I stay?
