Sharing my thoughts on the official clip for Ben Sottak's post-apocalyptic Halloween thrill ride, HALLOWARRIOR, streaming now on Shudder following its world premiere at the Tribeca Festival. Starring Hereditary's Milly Shapiro alongside Shannyn Sossamon, Ajani Russell, and A. J. Bowen, the film follows Pumpkin, the sole survivor of a wasteland who uses Halloween decorations, homemade booby traps, and sheer grit to fend off a brutal gang of raiders at her doorstep. We take a look at the gritty 80s exploitation aesthetic, the intense survival dynamics, and Milly Shapiro's terrifyingly great performance. Are you adding HALLOWARRIOR to your Halloween movie watchlist this year?
