First steps

We started the sketch guided by the reference, but without being a copy, I want to give it a partial reinterpretation of the feeling of seeing the little bird taking care of its nest.
For this sketch I used an H2 graphite pencil.

Empezamos el boceto guiado por la referencia, pero sin ser una copia, quiero darle una reinterpretación parcial del sentimiento al ver a la pequeña ave cuidar su nido.
Para este boceto use un lápiz de grafito H2

Once the sketch is finished my girlfriend @yasmirgs helps me by applying a layer of watercolor over the whole sketch, with this we will make a somewhat basic sky for the moment. It's the first time she paints with this kind of materials, so I liked to see how she did it.

Una vez terminado el boceto mi novia @yasmirgs me ayuda aplicando una capa de acuarela sobre todo el boceto, con esto haremos un cielo un tanto básico por el momento. Es la primera vez que ella pinta con este tipo de materiales, así que me gusto ver como lo hacía

Here is the first layer of watercolor with little water. Let it dry for a while before continuing

A few minutes later we can continue painting, for the branches I will use cold paints, tones between black, white and a minimum touch of red.

Unos minutos después podemos continuar al pintura, para las ramas usaré pinturas al frío, tonos entre negro, blanco y un toque mínimo de rojo

I like to mix and play with the paint before applying it, instead of applying a single tone on the canvas I think it is much more pleasing to the eye to have a variety of all of them in the same stroke.

Me gusta mezclar y jugar con la pintura antes de aplicarla, en lugar de aplicar un solo tono sobre el lienzo creo que es mucho más agradable a la vista el tener variedad de todos en el mismo trazo

My girlfriend also helped me by taking some pictures while we continued painting.

Mi novia me ayudo también al tomar algunas fotos mientras seguimos pintando.

We are adding details, at this point it is already a matter of feelings instead of copying reality faithfully.
Some small leaves on the dark colored branches help a lot to give it depth.

Vamos agregando detalles, en este punto ya es cuestión de sentimientos en lugar de copiar fielmente la realidad.
Unas pequeñas hojas en las ramas de color oscuro ayudan mucho a darle profundidad.

It is time to give life to the bird, the center of our work.

Es momento de darle vida al ave, el centro de nuestra obra

We will use gray tones with a very small touch of blue and red in some parts.

We apply a little more color, even though it is not in the reference, I think it adds a lot of color.

Aplicamos un poco más de color, a pesar de no estar en la referencia, creo que le aportan mucho sentimiento a la pintura

With a darker tone we give more depth to the bird and other areas of the canvas.

Con un tono mas oscuro le damos mas profundidad al ave y otras zonas del lienzo

Well, a few days after this painting I went back to the same road with my girlfriend and we noticed something different, the little bird was making strange movements.
To our pleasant surprise her egg had already hatched and she already had a little chick.
I didn't want to disturb her so I took a picture of her from a distance so as not to scare her.
a small but beautiful story about the cycle of life...

Bien días después de esta pintura volví a pasar con mi novia por el mismo camino y notamos algo diferente, la pequeña ave hacía movimientos raros.
Para nuestra agradable sorpresa su huevo ya había eclosionado y ya tenía un pequeño pichón.
no quise molestar asi que le tome una foto desde lejos para no asustarla.
una pequeña pero hermosa historia sobre el ciclo de la vida...
