The more I think about it the more I think it will do great with new live vi especially weaved in. It'll make for a good structure, and bei g that they're grape vines, they harden really nicely and last a long time. Long enough for the new vines to become big and be the structural thing themselves.

By the way, the dead vines were freshly cut, so they were pretty flexible.
