Are you able bodied? If so, get out there and call everyone you can find about learning their work. I don't know what country you're in, but here in the US there are a lot of Help Wanted signs everywhere.

Also, it's a place where people will hire you if you enoy them enough, just so you'll leave them alone... they might find a gem of a worker that way too.
