Opportunity to up-cycle tons of material is right around the corner
We are coming to the end of a 7 season TV show and there is going to be quite a few truck loads full of materials (of all kinds, lumber, windows, desks, chaires and everything you can think of that cpuld be used in life... it's Hollywood!), going to the dumps!
I have a plan for the frames you saw at the top of the post. At some point this summer we tried to dry mushrooms and failed. So for next year, I would like to make a solar dehydrator like this one:
Than there are all these 12 foot flats that are made for building sets... these we'll use to make another shed and if there's anything left, I'd like to also make a stand alone roof for scrap wood, other material that needs to be sheltered from the rain and/or fire wood.
And there is so much more lumber to be had... 2 x 12 planks and roof joists in 16 foot lenths.
We are planning to share a truck with a cpuple colleagues who have their vacation home in the same area we are building this homestead. If we can organize this job properly, we'll have hit the jackpot of dumpster diving before anything has any chance of making it into a dumpster!!!
I'll take more photos next time to show you what madness this Hollywood world throws away all the time...
