Recently I bought some new books after I finally had some to read after all the exams, and I've already started one of them.
I've been reading a lot about gender this summer and I thought it could be nice to get one more about gender and supplement my readings. The previous book I read about gender was a general one, which was explaining all the aspects of gender such as its historical, political, and social development.
After that first book, I was quite enlightened and realized that I knew very little about this topic.

The book I'm currently reading is about the music aspect of gender. So far it talked about why we can't separate classical music from popular culture because when money comes into the stage, we can't talk about any divine, pure or real music.
Just like any other industry, classical music also follows the current trends to increase sales and gain a larger audience. This situation leads the industry to use the female body and sexist discourse as a means to sell more album copies.
I think it's quite enlightening and interesting as well because classical music is usually considered the highest form of music, thereby free from worldly desires and competition like money and fame. However, it turns out that it's no different than any other industry.
Anyway, I can say that I've been enjoying the book. However, I think the language that the author uses is a bit ambiguous which makes it harder to understand sometimes.
