Hi, Hello everyone. Maligayang araw ng Kasarinlan sa lahat ng mga Filipino sa iba't ibang panig ng mundo. As we commemorate our Philippine Independence today, I hope you are all safe and doing great!
For this post, I would love to answer the 3rd question of the Hiveph June blogging contest.
3. What's the importance of Independence?
Philippine Independence is essential to all Filipinos all over the world. It symbolizes the freedom we gained from colonizers that made great changes to our country long ago.
If not for all our fallen heroes who fought for our freedom long ago, we could not do all the things that we are experiencing right now.
We are not prisoners anymore of our very own country. We can go out and travel to the places we love. We can now do our tasks freely without being told and punished if we might fail to accomplish them. And we can freely meet our friends whenever we wanted to be with them. We are grateful enough for all the heroes who fight until their last breath.
To today's youth, we should give value to the freedom we exercise right now. Yes, we are free but this freedom has an equivalent responsibility that we should take care of. We should not do things that might hurt others to sustain that freedom. Let's be responsible for our actions.
Today, we greatly honor and respect our Independence because, through this, we are recognized in different parts of the world. With the freedom we had, we can now compete globally without limitations. And we became known to the international world for the different talents and skills which Filipinos are good at.
Nowadays, we are modern heroes of our modern world. We don't need to die to become a hero but we can be a hero even in our everyday life. We go to work or everywhere we meet people we must be kind to them always and give them our smile because we don't know that a simple gesture may save their day.
Wherever I go, I am very proud to be called Filipino.
