A friend on Hive told me she is on the fence about AI, and I said I'm on both sides of the fence. I really love if it can make peoples jobs easier and allow us to do things we couldn't imagine doing before. I try not to just be close minded because some things will be easier to get used to than I thought....BUT I totally agree about surveillance and having this stuff forced upon us, and I hope we can live easier instead of everyone just losing their jobs.
If they want to make new machines, what's wrong with keeping one or two old machines for people who were happy with them? If they want to offer digital everywhere, fine, no need to make cash obsolete, especially if we are still using the country's currency.
I think my only solution (for myself) is to hunker down and do the work to create a strong and supportive community for people who want to keep it real, and let everyone decide individually what that looks like for them. As for the world at large, I can just do my best not to be discouraged by these wacky developments
