BE LIKE A PANDA. HE'S BLACK, HE'S WHITE, HE'S ASIAN ;)
The pandas don't move too much, and when they do, it usually happens to eat. In the research, the amount of energy used by the pandas during the day was measured. According to the findings of the study published in Science on July 9, 2015, the amount of energy spent by pandas on a daily basis was surprisingly low - they spent 13.8 megajoules on estimates, but according to research data the pandas spend about 5.2 megajoules a day on energy. This figure is almost the same as three-toed sloth animals (three-toed sloths spend about 5 megajoules of energy per day.)
According to the data obtained from the study, a panda weighing 90 kg spends less than half of the daily energy consumed by the same weight. Even if a human remains still throughout the day, it still has a high metabolic rate from a bile ’active Bir panda. And what is the reason? The answer is not too complicated. Feeding the pandas requires it. Although the digestive system is suitable for carnivorous feeding, pandas are usually fed by bamboo eating, which causes pandas to have an inefficient digestive process.
The pandas need to eat 9 to 18 kg of bamboo daily to get the nutrients they need. As this form of nutrition provides a small amount of food, the pandas need to slow their movements. This means not moving too much: the brains, kidneys and livers of the pandas are small in terms of low energy consumption, and their bodies release a small amount of thyroid hormone, which slows down the metabolism.
