I didn't think that I'll write a movie review anytime soon. Not because of an absence of movies to watch, quite the contrary.
I've watched a huge amount of movies in such a short time without writing a review on any of them, so the thoughts have been stuck and condensed in my head into inaudible ramblings where I can't even describe the plot of the movie, more less a full review.
Despite that there was still the fact that I hadn't written a long form content in quite some time so I was at a loss of ideas on how to even start a post.
The ideas of the posts and stories I do want to start are still there though.
Well this movie is actually one that I had spontaneously downloaded yesterday night after I had watched a small forty-five second clip of a scene from it.
Sometimes it's the smallest of moments that can prompt an unstoppable urge for someone.
After watching just that scene on a friend's Whatsapp status, I asked him to send the clip and then I asked for the name of the movie from which it came..
He gave it to me, and I wasted no time in downloading it and embarking on a journey to watch the most stimulating of discussions..
Freud's Last Session馃搩鉁濓笍
Plot
A debate on the existence of God. A fictional meeting occurs between Jack, a nickname for the renowned author C.S Lewis and Dr Sigmund Freud two days after the start of WWII.
Freud greatly resents Lewis's recent outright rejection of his own strain of atheism in favor of Christianity, and in a strange act of curiosity, invites him to share his views.
A debate that at first started at the reason for a belief in God branches out and touches at other subjects.
At first, I remember saying I watched a video which prompted me to download and watch the movie.
Well what prompted me to write on it is what it really made me feel, a gem that I haven't heard of and one I think 
For spectrumecons, he's writing a book and one of his characters, "Pardi", could be further developed and looked into while referencing the subject of morals which were discussed here.
To be honest, the debate was about God but it felt like the topics and instances used here were mostly about man.
Sigmund was a psychoanalyst, the first psychoanalyst infact, and he was always looking for a way to try and understand his subject, the specimen in view and in this session, the specimen is another genius, in his words 'a man of upmost intellect', Lewis, who in his views left the path of truth and chose to believe in fantasies.
Normally I make my movie reviews in listing out different aspects of the movie which appeals to me yet this movie didn't feel like a movie at all.
It felt like one who was actually watching a debate, one who was a spectator to these two great minds as they take part in one of man's longest and most brutal of arguments.
Is God Real?
The movie overall was well built, it had great cinematography which was made with the right amount of blur and soot with black and white here and there to emulate 1933 London
Not like I'll know how 1933 London would look like馃槀
There was little changes and/or things to note about the other characters. The two main minor characters who didn't have more than 7 scenes on screen.
I'm talking about Sigmund's daughter, Anna and her lover Dorothy, her only little time to shine was a small moment of character development as she tried to get over her daddy complex and firmly insist on Dorothy living with them.
The movie as it should be was centered on the discussion between Sigmund and Lewis, everything else that didn't add to that one prime plot was simply not accounted for, and for that I'm entirely grateful.
I'm grateful that I was able to watch this movie and experience such a discussion.
These two characters are real, and they did stay in the same place at the same time. It's to be noted that the only thing that makes this movie to be fiction and not based of true life is the fact that there was no mention of Lewis name in any records of Freud's visitors.
It is known that Freud had a visit from an Oxford don a few weeks before his death, although no one can say if it was or wasn't Lewis.
Ofcourse I have no say on the matter, yet not in all my life of movie watching and book reading have I ever witnessed a fictional discussion that seemed so real.
A lovely experience that I urge everyone to take part in...

No pens茅 que escribir铆a una rese帽a de la pel铆cula pronto. No por falta de pel铆culas para ver, sino todo lo contrario.
He visto una gran cantidad de pel铆culas en tan poco tiempo sin escribir una rese帽a sobre ninguna de ellas, por lo que los pensamientos se han quedado atrapados y condensados en mi cabeza en divagaciones inaudibles donde ni siquiera puedo describir la trama de la pel铆cula. m谩s menos una revisi贸n completa.
A pesar de eso, todav铆a exist铆a el hecho de que no hab铆a escrito un contenido extenso en bastante tiempo, por lo que no ten铆a ideas sobre c贸mo siquiera comenzar una publicaci贸n.
Sin embargo, las ideas de las publicaciones e historias que quiero comenzar todav铆a est谩n ah铆.
Bueno, esta pel铆cula es en realidad una que descargu茅 espont谩neamente ayer por la noche despu茅s de haber visto un peque帽o clip de cuarenta y cinco segundos de una escena.
A veces, son los momentos m谩s peque帽os los que pueden provocar un impulso imparable en alguien.
Despu茅s de ver esa escena en el estado de Whatsapp de un amigo, le ped铆 que enviara el clip y luego le pregunt茅 el nombre de la pel铆cula de la que proven铆a.
脡l me lo dio y no perd铆 el tiempo en descargarlo y embarcarme en un viaje para presenciar las discusiones m谩s estimulantes.
La 煤ltima sesi贸n de Freud馃搩鉁濓笍
Trama
Un debate sobre la existencia de Dios. Un encuentro ficticio ocurre entre Jack, apodo del reconocido autor C.S Lewis y el Dr. Sigmund Freud dos d铆as despu茅s del inicio de la Segunda Guerra Mundial.
A Freud le molesta mucho el reciente rechazo rotundo de Lewis de su propia corriente de ate铆smo en favor del cristianismo y, en un extra帽o acto de curiosidad, lo invita a compartir sus puntos de vista.
Un debate que inicialmente se centr贸 en el motivo de la creencia en Dios se ramifica y toca otros temas.
Al principio, recuerdo haber dicho que vi un video que me incit贸 a descargar y ver la pel铆cula.
Bueno, lo que me impuls贸 a escribir sobre 茅l es lo que realmente me hizo sentir, una joya de la que no hab铆a o铆do hablar y que creo que
Para Spectrumecons, est谩 escribiendo un libro y uno de sus personajes, "Pardi", podr铆a desarrollarse e investigarse m谩s a fondo haciendo referencia al tema de la moral que se discuti贸 aqu铆.
Para ser honesto, el debate fue sobre Dios, pero parec铆a que los temas y ejemplos utilizados aqu铆 eran principalmente sobre el hombre.
Sigmund fue psicoanalista, el primer psicoanalista de hecho, y siempre estaba buscando una manera de intentar comprender su tema, el esp茅cimen en cuesti贸n y en esta sesi贸n, el esp茅cimen es otro genio, en sus palabras 'un hombre de m谩ximo intelecto. ', Lewis, quien en sus opiniones abandon贸 el camino de la verdad y opt贸 por creer en fantas铆as.
Normalmente hago rese帽as de pel铆culas enumerando diferentes aspectos de la pel铆cula que me atraen, pero esta pel铆cula no parec铆a una pel铆cula en absoluto.
Me sent铆 como si realmente estuviera viendo un debate, como si fuera un espectador de estas dos grandes mentes mientras participan en una de las discusiones m谩s largas y brutales del hombre.
驴Es Dios real?
La pel铆cula en general estuvo bien construida, tuvo una cinematograf铆a excelente, hecha con la cantidad adecuada de desenfoque y holl铆n, con blanco y negro aqu铆 y all谩 para emular el Londres de 1933.
No es que sepa c贸mo ser铆a el Londres de 1933 馃槀
Hubo peque帽os cambios y/o cosas a destacar sobre los otros personajes. Los dos personajes secundarios principales que no tuvieron m谩s de 7 escenas en pantalla.
Estoy hablando de la hija de Sigmund, Anna y su amante Dorothy, su 煤nico momento para brillar fue un peque帽o momento de desarrollo del personaje mientras intentaba superar su complejo paternal e insistir firmemente en que Dorothy viviera con ellos.
La pel铆cula, como deber铆a ser, se centr贸 en la discusi贸n entre Sigmund y Lewis, todo lo dem谩s que no contribuy贸 a esa trama principal simplemente no se tuvo en cuenta, y estoy completamente agradecido por eso.
Estoy agradecido de haber podido ver esta pel铆cula y experimentar tal discusi贸n.
Estos dos personajes son reales y permanecieron en el mismo lugar al mismo tiempo. Cabe se帽alar que lo 煤nico que hace que esta pel铆cula sea ficci贸n y no est茅 basada en la vida real es el hecho de que no se menciona el nombre de Lewis en ning煤n registro de los visitantes de Freud.
Se sabe que Freud recibi贸 la visita de un catedr谩tico de Oxford unas semanas antes de su muerte, aunque nadie puede decir si fue o no Lewis.
Por supuesto, no tengo nada que decir al respecto, pero en toda mi vida de ver pel铆culas y leer libros he sido testigo de una discusi贸n ficticia que pareciera tan real.
Una experiencia encantadora en la que insto a todos a participar...
