This first week was unexpected in so many ways, as all who was involved would tell you.
The United loss, although delightful for me was also very shocking.
Tears everywhere for the audience in red.
Thankfully though, my first week, although lowest ever in all my campaigns, was better than I thought.
Majority of the players I picked performed as I expected with Joan Pedro and Szoboszlai talking the lead points from scoring from Chelsea win and Liverpool's draw respectively.
They both had a great show last season for their clubs and I expected them to follow the same wave.
Dom is becoming a central figure in Liverpool, has pretty much settled into his role and is probably on to carry Jordan Henderson's mantle from the Liverpool we know of the past.
It's safe to say we can expect 5+ points from him weekly despite how the team performed overall.
Rio and Wirtz are some bets I made just based on a hunch I had. I don't expect Rio to have much play time this season but he has a nose to smell a goal and Wirtz has the audacity to shoot for it.
For Liverpool, right now our midfielders are the most prominent and I'm banking on that.
Haaland, well he was disappointing and I'm pretty sure he was on 80% of FPL managers team because.. well he's Haaland.
The glorious Norwegian Viking that was a monster last season and during the worldcup.
Man City nearly had a disaster but as always when you give them an opportunity dey lock in and make it count.
9 points from the team combined and I'm thinking of changing their keeper. Donnaruma and Man City as a whole isn't a team known for their saves or clean sheets.
It was always raw attacking power with them so Donnaruma isn't a keeper that would stay for sure.
I'm still working on my defense, I didn't have anyone in mind when I chose Diop, Pedro Porro and O' Reilly.
I know Caliafiori to be a regular point bringer, I expected and still expect the same from Orielly but Diop would be moved the first chance I get.
I'm also waiting for Pedro to recover before I make a decision about him but he jas my hopes up too, I feel Tottenham would have a turn around this season and then some of my player decisions would start to make sense.
I have no words for Hudson Odoi. Simply no words.
My subs, well that's easy and some of them might come on this week.
Kelleher cause he's a goated keeper even from his days in Liverpool.
His team really helps him shin now and it is shown with his 7 FPL points.
Murillo, well I have a slight feeling about Nottingham this season, nothing concrete, just from the gut, so two of their players wouldn't hurt.
I forgot to assign captains before this week ran out so it was assigned by the computers discretion and that's how i got what I got sadly.
But for this next week, we're making some switches.
With Liverpool playing Nothingham Forest, I have the two NF players out to avoid confusion.
My policy is bank on one team and try to gather points from the rest.
Normally, it's meant to be an easy win for Liverpool, but Newcastle was meant to be an easy win too😂
Regardless, I know that with Leeds, Kelleher would have a lot of balls to catch and after nearly losing last week, Man City would try their best from the beginning against Crystal Palace.
It'll be a game full of shots, corners and cards
Thank God I'm a gambling man...
Xhaka, he's one I chose on a whim and I'm so glad from his performance in GW1. I have an eye for players like that sometimes.
So I'll be sure to check what @blanchy was saying about the player stocks hive game.
Regardless, until next week✨
