And so— Not a bad idea. At some level, at some level, right? Like, we're just— it's like, we're like— we go in and we're like, listen, we want regular order spending and we want you guys to not, like, take advantage of all of the American people. And they're like, oh, okay, well, then we'll cut out all the stuff that's good for you and still give everything else to all the fucking special interests.
And then, right? Like, everybody with their hand out. We've got to come up with some better shit to ask for. I agree.
Listen, I fought the fight to try to, like, curb the size of government for 15 years. I'm tired of fucking losing. Like, I'm just tired of it.
Like— Well, the problem, Dustin, is that unlike the Democrats, we generally want government to be smaller and less intrusive, right? That's a fucking lie, though, Jess. The Republicans actually want that. Yeah, that's a lie.
That is a fucking lie. Yeah, the longer they're in office, the more they spend. You know, someone asked before about why we have the Senate, we have the House.
Why does it take this much to get them to vote? And I can tell you that it's the difference between the caucus and the conference. The Democrats have a caucus, we have a conference, and there are different rules. For a conference versus a caucus, and we tend to be way, way more independent and run around like ferrets on crack.
The conference is hellish to manage, but the caucus, they have actual levers of power that they will beat the crap out of their members if they don't vote the way they're supposed to vote. And we should repeal the 17th Amendment. Listen, I actually— to keep the discussion going, I'm happy to start some of the things that we should have gotten in the bill.
