If the weather outside is sunny, especially in winter, and if it's Sunday, there's no reason to stay at home and hang out in front of screens.
Well, that was the weather last Sunday, and my wife and I (and a dog 馃榿) decided to go for a walk somewhere nearby.

Lake Mola is one such spot, about 6 km from our home. It's a water storage lake, created about 30 years ago by damming the Mola stream. The damming was done mainly because of the flooding and pollution of the Skocjan Caves, which are a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

We drove to the top of the Brkini hills and parked the car.

Next, we walked towards the village of Soze, as you can see in the photo they have also put up a signpost to the lake and the Fisherman's Home. It is not far, one and a half kilometers.

It was a really sunny and beautiful Sunday afternoon, and it smelled like spring. But everything is still brown and dry and old, there are no young shoots or flowers anywhere yet.

We pass a large and long field of turnips, which have obviously survived the winter. I think these turnips are used for animal feed.

It's all very dry indeed. I cannot imagine what kind of fire it would be if all this dry grass and trees caught fire.

View to the other side, towards Mount Sne啪nik. We are still 800 meters up, on top of the hills.

Again, a signpost, 500 meters to the lake and the Fisherman's Home. You can see the lake in the middle of the photo. But we will have to descend about 300 meters.

Well, we got to the Fisherman's Home. Which is closed. In this nice weather they could open, I thought.
Apparently, it's not the season for fishermen yet. :) 馃帲

Again, there is a board about this reservoir, placed by the Municipality of Ilirska Bistrica, which also explains in detail about the lake, what kind of fish are here and what can be done here.

And now (finally, haha) some photos of Lake Mola.
Actually, the left half of the lake is still frozen and slowly defrosting, especially today when it's so sunny.

This is the place to fish for carp.
The sign says (in Slovenian language) that if you catch a fish, you have to release it back to the lake. Sportfishing, we would call it.

One more family photo to keep in mind and we're slowly heading back up the hill.

I'm not a fisherman, but I like the place.
Peace and quiet, we didn't meet anyone. When it's high season, there are probably some fishermen and hikers, but there's no special tourism here.
I mean, maybe it's right it's like that.
