My five cents, a little late but:
- You have to have support from someone, or big brother, or a curation trail, or friends
- To get support, you have to read posts and interact with posters, reply to comments, and be polite
- Try to post as regularly as possible, in communities you enjoy, and stick to the rules of posting, i.e., no artificially generated content, your photos, and videos
- Keep at it, because nothing happens overnight
- If all of the above feels like a kind of compulsion and not fun, then leave it, because Hive is not for you
