In the past I have been completely ignoring the Survival mode, however right now Splinterlands has made a key change to it by reducing the cooldown time to just one hour for most maxed out cards and they are also running a promotion that if you play at least two hundred fifty battles in brackets One through Five and fill out a short survey you will get Two Hundred Fifty thousand Glint!
I am not sure if this is just a temporary thing, but the card cooldown in Survival has been reduced by 99%
As you see from the image above the cooldown is reduced by 99%, that is a big deal because one of the challenges in the Survival Mode was that you had to play against bots that had maxed out cards and you would loose a couple key cards and your odds of winning would go down dramatically and that was not fun. And you had to wait for days for your cards to come back, but now if you have maxed out cards they are usually back after about an hour of cooldown and even less for black foil cards.
The Splinterlands team limited time bonus of 250,000 Glint is only valid for brackets 1-5. I picked bracket Five because I have maxed out cards and it offers the largest Glint Reward Pool in addition to the 250,000 Glint bonus. I also placed at number Seven on the Survival leaderboard so I have received 100,000 Glint for the leaderboard placement:
My Glint pool rewards for 1,426,859 Reward Points were 102K Glint as you can see from the image below:
So my total Glint earnings from the Survival Mode were 452K Glint, that is significant Glint earnings. But deciding which Survival bracket to play in also depends on your level of cards. Bracket number Five requires maxed out cards, from rating 1700 plus you will be battling against Splinterlands liquidity bots that have fully maxed out decks. And at rating of around two thousand you will encounter really difficult maxed out bot lineups that are comparable to Modern Champion One liquidity bots. Here is an example of the kind of lineup you will see:
So pick bracket number five only if you have maxed out cards. Brackets number four and number three are the next two brackets with the most Glint token rewards in the pool, number three is Silver league and number for is Gold league. It could be as simple as if you have gold level deck pick number four and if you have silver level deck pick number three. But there are more players in bracket number three and Glint pool is going to be shared among more participants.
Also since there are more players in bracket number three the competition for leaderboard placement glint could also be more stiff. Here is what a survey form looks like:
Brackets one and two have a lot less glint in their reward pools, with bracket number one having half the reward pool of bracket number two. But you can play with level one card in bracket number one and you would need a bronze level deck to play in the second bracket.
To me it seems that the 250,000 Glint bonus from Splinterlands is especially lucrative to those below diamond and champion players in Modern, because those in Champion in Modern and with a good amount of SPS staked like me already earn good Glint rewards, but at lover level it is much harder in Modern to earn that kind of Glint. So this might be the best way for the players with lover level decks to earn a nice chunk of Glint to upgrade their reward cards.
Play 250 battles in Survival in backets 1-5, fill out a short survey and receive 250,000 Glint from the team if your win rate is above 50%. Below 50% you still receive 100,000 Glint. This is one of the best ways to get Glint tokens at this time in my opinion, especially for the newer players with novice, bronze or silver card decks.
