It seems that Modern Champion is getting easier in Splinterlands these days. I used to be happy to just make it into Champion Two in the past and now I am in Champion Two with half of the Splinterlands season still left to go.
Also, I dod a Fortune Draw and as you can see from the picture above I finally got a prize. Unfortunately that is a common card that I already have maxed out and still rarely use, but it is nice to have anyway.
While the in game utility of this card is fairly limited it is an arcane black foil and as you can see it is in limited supply of twenty cards total, so perhaps I should list it on the market and get a regular foil card that has more utility in the game?
After all I am not really a card collector though I am not a fan of selling anything especially a limited edition cards like that one. It is also hard to know how to price a black foil variant card as the only two listed have a big range. One is seventy dollars and another one is one hundred twenty dollars.
Another thought that came to mind is that perhaps if I sell this card on the Splinterlands market it would be better off to buy SPS with it as the token is so low at $ 0.0027 right now!
From a long term perspective investment into SPS versus the card could make a lot more sense. Though it is tough to argue that this is in any way an investment at this point. More like a gamble, but one that could make a lot of money if Splinterlands as a game survives.
Seventy dollars at 0.0027 per SPS token is almost 26k SPS which is pretty wild! When the bull market returns to altcoins and when the gaming narrative becomes hot again these SPS tokens could reach valuations that seem impossible right now.
And there will be another bull market in altcoins and the gaming narrative is going to come back the question is when and if the Splinterlands is still around.
I have a similar attitude towards SPS and Hive, both seem to be going down all the time and bleeding players or authors. But this is to be expected during the bear market and we pretty much had a long and brutal bear market since at least 2022.
But everything in markets goes in cycles and what goes down will go up.
We are in a Depression phase of the market psychology chart above. This phase can last for a while, but eventually it starts all over again and I intend to be around to be ready for the next up cycle.
