After 3 Seasons in top 50 Modern Champion Leaderboard I am sharing my best cards
Introduction
In the last three Splinterlands seasons I have placed in the top 50 on the Modern Champion leaderboard and tracked my card usage and win rates. In this post I am going to share my data on my card usage and what cards are my best go to cards.
Summoners / Archons
Lets start with what used to be know in Splinterlands as summoners and now known as Archons:
Here are my top summoners by usage. As you can see the Nidhoggr actually has by far the best win rate, but at a massive ten mana that it requires it is not practical for many battles. My two most used summoners are definitely Lorkus and Cryptic followed by Bella Ratajowlski. Surprisingly my most used summoner has the worst win rate, perhaps I should reconsider using it as much as I do.
And here are the stats for all eleven modern summoners I have used:
What stands out to me is how weak the win rate is for the Eternal Tofu, either this summoner is no longer very effective or I lack the cards and skills to use it the way it should be used. Sheng Xiao on the other hand has a pretty good win rate at 52.9% on par or better than my most used summoners.
All Cards
Now lets take a look at all of my cards, my top five favorite cards to use are Kelan Gaines, Halfling Refugee, Venka the Vile, Commander Slade and Lorkus. I don't think there is any surprise here in terms of the most used cards. In terms of the win rate I am also surprised to see Venka the Vile have only 46% win rate:
And if we take a look at my top 29 most used cards we have the following picture:
What stands out to me is that my highest win rate cards are: Nidhoggr, Daigendark Surveyour, Calamity, Yaba's Pickle, Ironcoil Bulwark, Rage and Zyrx the Emberglace. This is basically the list of my elite must have cards that have the best win rates among my most used cards.
We can also take a look at my cards with best win rates:
What we see here is that some of the older cards like Merdaali Guardian, Corsair Bosun and Xenith Monk appear on this list. That is because I use them in the rulesets where you are allowed to use older cards specifically in the Outsider ruleset in Modern where you can summon one Wild card.
As you can see those cars were used three times each and got exactly the same win rate. So it is important to have a good Wild collection in modern as well. But the usage numbers for the wild cards really don't compare with the most used cards. Conclave Artificer is a stand out in terms of a win rate at 72.7% and it was used twenty two times, that might be a hidden gem that I do not use enough.
Above are more cards from my data after the Eternal Tofu. Here Barashkukor stands out with his win rate and Baakjira with a win rate of 60% and usage of 30, that is my favorite Wild card to use when I play Cryptic.
Conclusion
In this post I have shared with you my data from playing at a high level of Modern Champion. Based on this data you can put together a really strong Modern Champion deck.
