The rules travel with the token.
Metaplex, the company behind Solana's NFT standard, has launched MPL-3643, a token standard for permissioned real-world assets and tokenized securities on Solana. It follows the same idea as Ethereum's ERC-3643: compliance is part of the asset, not a layer around it.
What the press release says it does:
- embeds customizable transfer restrictions, lock-up periods and jurisdiction limits directly into the asset
- integrates with identity verification partners
- builds on Token-2022, sRFC 37 and the Solana Attestation Service
Status: limited-access alpha. Orca, Raydium, Jupiter, Phantom and Solflare are named as launch integrations. Metaplex founder Stephen Hess: "To bring financial markets onchain, we need compliance infra without sacrificing Solana's composability."
Why it matters: regulated markets on Solana need rules that hold wherever a token moves. A standard that carries them in the token itself is a step in that direction.
SDA is a token on Solana's Token-2022 program, supervised under MiCA with FIN-FSA as competent authority, issued by a team in Helsinki/Finland.
