Hail to the Hive!
We have decided to spend a bit longer than usual at Foxton Locks and I was hoping to grab a coffee and an ice cream today at the top lock cafe but I was a little distracted. I did do a water run and the waterpoints are near to this bridge. Now I often feel like a floating vagabond living this nomadic watery lifestyle so the sight of this boat did make me crack a smile 😊 as I spied it through the bridge.
It did get me thinking though. We are now selling Badger the Narrowboat and may be off the waterways for a while before we get another boat. If life has taught me one thing it’s that you can often ‘stray’ off the path, or canal in this case. So I was wondering if after we sell Badger it may take longer than we think to return.
I do love this nomadic watery life and there’s still so much of the network left to explore so I hope we are not off the ‘cut’ ,as they call the canal, for too long.
We may have a buyer for Badger the Narrowboat already so these thoughts have been going through my mind a lot.
But for now we are living afloat in glorious English summer sunshine. Best to enjoy….
