There's something liberating about riding a motor cycle. Something deep down a little bit rebellious. At the moment there's something very therapeutic about it after all the restrictions of being in lockdown, confined to home.
The feeling of power combined with being exposed to the elements is wonderful. Exciting and relaxing in a way. My mind , although still focused on the road, is in a nice place. Just me, the bike, the road and our surroundings . No conversation. Perfect social distancing.
Having been locked down now for 51 days has given us time to make a few short term plans for when things open up a bit. @biggypauls and myself are now starting to plan a bike trip to a neighbouring island, Siquijour. After all this time in quarantine it would be truly amazing to do something like that again and I think we would relish every moment realising that our time is indeed precious.
For now, as I have a quarantine pass that allows me out of the house, I content myself with the short runs on the bike to the shops for groceries or the the dive shop to check on everything. I do make these rides a little longer than they should be. Well I'm obviously a little forgetful of the route officer as I don't get out much!
But everytime I do these little trips I am now dreaming of our trip to the next island which I am hoping could be as soon as the end of June. I do try and be positive.
Thanks for reading my ramblings it's always appreciated. I am enjoying the #hive platform more and more these days and have found a new appreciation for writing and expression since all the covid madness has descended on us.
Please be safe out there wherever you may be
Ciao!
