DISCUSSION TOPIC:
The Power Of God

BIBLE READING:
Luke 11: 14-26

Qs. 2, 6. See Questions HERE.

DISCUSSION:

Observe the mixed reactions the crowd exhibited when the power of God was demonstrated through the driving out of demons (vs. 14-16). What two ways did Jesus show that it was by the power of God that He cast out the demons (vs. 17-19)? What does driving out of demons prove in the ministry of Jesus (v. 20)? Today people are still sceptical about the power behind miracles and exorcism in the church. However, while counterfeit miracles abound, God still does genuine miracles through His servants. There can be no counterfeit without an original; shortage of original gives room to counterfeits, therefore seek to manifest Jesus' power freely.

Although Satan has great power and controlled the world for thousands of years, Jesus' power is greater and has delivered us from Satan's hold (vs. 20, 21). See Is 49:24-26; Rev 20:2,10.

What lesson can we learn from vs. 23-26 about trying to be neutral in life? Verse 23 shows that there is no neutral ground in life. You are either for God or against Him. Any one that is not for God is invariably for Satan. Trying to be neutral is actually dangerous and counterproductive (Rev. 2:15-16).

What next:

There are people who believe that it is only by the power of Satan they could succeed in life. Decide to present the gospel to any such person you know.

Prayer:

Pray for those you know to have been deceived by Satan this way.
