The good works and ministry of Peter came under fire. Notice those who criticized Peter's ministry and the allegation they brought against him (vs. 1-3)? Some people may oppose our ministry not necessarily because they hate us but because they need some explanation for our actions. What can we learn from the way Peter responded (v. 4)?
Peter's calm response is worthy of emulation. There are Christian leaders who, when asked by their board or members to offer explanation of their actions, would consider such as an insult. We need to know that no matter our position, anointing or calling, we are not flawless. We can make a mistake. We must, hence, be open to questions. It is a safeguard for us when we have people who can call our attention to things that should be corrected. Instead of being angry, we should rather be thankful to God for giving us such people. What lesson is there for us in vs. 12 and 18?
If you can make mistakes, then be prepared for corrections.
Father, give me a quiet and humble spirit in my relationship with other Christians.
